Carnes, Beau V., The Idea
Beau V. Carnes is
currently in the Television Production Program at Ferris State University in
Big Rapids, MI. He has been making videos since high school, but The Idea,
though short and simpleis his best work. After he graduates, he hopes to use
his skills to help people, though he is not sure how yet.
Carson, Sarah, No Forwarding Address
Sarah Carson is a junior at Spring Arbor University in Michigan. Since the
production of No Forwarding Address, she has been living in the
university's editing suite and has learned to find joy in the little things
in life - like sack lunches from her fantastic academic advisor.
Daigle, Reed, Sur l'Amour des Rêves (On the Love of Dreams)
Reed Daigle is a filmmaker and photographer from New Orleans. He graduated
from the University of New Orleans in film studies in 2001. He currently
works with MorLyf Concepts, a music, film, and video production company
started by hiphop artist Darius J.
Dorsey, Greg, Waiting for Grace
Greg Dorsey is a
graduate of the University of Florida with a major in Telecommunications.
Currently, he serves as director at WJCT, a Public Broadcasting Station for
the Greater Jacksonville area. Greg is also the Video Producer at Southpoint
Community Church and the COO of Mustard Seed Pictures.
Hall, Adam, Mildly Fiercesome: The Creative Process and Infomercial
Adam Hall is an independent filmmaker along with being a full-time college
student. He writes skis and videos weekly for Campus Crusade at
Carson-Newman College. In his spare time, he writes bios for his film
festival entries.
Hertenstein, Mike, The Gun
Mike Hertenstein has
worked as a magazine writer and editor and began directing music videos and
promotional films in the 1990s. He oversees the annual Flickerings Film
Showcase as a part of the Cornerstone music and arts Festival, held each
summer in Central Illinois.

Kostic, Aleksandar, Room
Aleksandar Kostic
was born in Belgrade, Serbia. After exploring photography, music, and acting
he moved from Serbia to Cyprus and worked there as a freelance 35mm/16 mm
film camera assistant, operator and assistant to DPs in commercials and
films. Two years later, he arrived in New York to pursue a certificate in
Film Production at the New School University of New York. He completed two
short 16 mm films in 7 months in 2003. He is currently in production of his
first feature documentary, Greenwich Village Through the Eyes of
95.
Masucci, Dan, The Last Round
Dan Masucci
(director) is a stay at home dad and part time waiter who directed the award
winning film, Murphy's Law. Joe Masucci (producer) is a combat veteran who
left the Marine Corps' to pursue his dream of movie making. Film Threat
calls The Masucci brothers "indie iron men" and they
have been named in the category of Best Local Filmmaker for four consecutive
yuears in the Metroland's Readers Poll. The brothers were featured in the
book "Making Movies with iMovie" and in the Norwegian magazine, Film.
Their film Murphy's Law was part of the 2002 Flickerings Film
Showcase.
Moreland, Michael, The Brain Scanner
Michael Moreland is
currently working as an assistant editor with CTN, a post-production facility
in Oak Park, Michigan. He holds his B. A. in Cinema & Photography from
Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Michael has worked on several
short films, written several screenplays, and interned with the American Film
Institute.
Needleman, Neil Ira, Two Survivors
"I've been
documenting my family and Brooklyn origins since I borrowed my Uncle Meyer's
old 8mm movie camera when I was 12 years old. Over the decades these
documentaries have evolved to Super8, VHS, Hi-8, and now, naturally, miniDV.
If I live so long, I know that I'll eventually become very much like you see
my Uncle Meyer in Two Survivors. I no longer deny it or fear it. But
all things considered, that ain't too bad." Mr. Needleman's film Latest
Memories was part of the 2003 Flickerings Film Showcase.
Nikkel, Kevin, Dial "M" for Monster
Kevin Nikkel is an
independent filmmaker from Winnipeg, a city on the mostly frozen Canadian
prairie. He has a growing list of short video projects under his belt and is
saving his pennies to shoot more stories on 16mm stock. When he is not making
indie films, he is helping run Catacomb Microcinema, and when he is not doing
that he is trying to keep up with his day job as a high school English
teacher.
Regner, Chris, Behind the Praise Band
Chris is a graduate
of the University of Michigan with a concentration in Film. His Wolverine
credits include: Cinematographer - Chair Today, Gone Tomorrow. Sound - The
Uncertainty Principle. Gaffer/Best Boy - Some movie he's forgotten the title
of, but it was really good - it won a student award.
Riemer, Noah, Most Wonderful People
Rust, Carl, Violent Ballet and Rust
Carl Rust is
guerilla filmmaking personified. No topic or image is too strange or bizarre
that he can't twist it a little more. He is approaching 50 with the
mentality of a 15 year old. His wife puts up with his nonsense for some
reason and his children just shake their heads and sigh. He was recently
inducted into the Midwest Championship Wrestling Hall of Fame and is studying
for his school administrator's license. Scary.
Ryan, Shane, A Normal Life and The Little Guy Kicks Ass
Shane Ryan has been
facinated by filmmaking since he was 5 yrs old. Shane's first film,
Isolation, was part of the 2003 Flickerings Film Showcase.
Scolaro, Jesse, Deprivation
Jesse Scolaro
graduated from the film conservatory program at SUNY Purchase in 1997 and, in
1999, co-founded The 7th Floor, an independent film production company. His
award-winning short film, Togetherlessness, played at film festivals
around the world. Deprivation is Jesse's feature film debut.
Staron, Nicholas, and Staron, Christopher, The Elephant
Nicholas Staron is a
twenty-one year old cinematographer and producer from Medina, Ohio. He and
his twin brother, Christopher Staron, have been working together for most of
their lives. He graduated from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, with a
degree in Cinema and Photography. In addition to writing the screenplay for
"The Elephant," he has also written two feature length scripts which he is
currently looking to sell. Christopher Staron is a twenty-one year old
director of several shorts which he produced with his twin brother, Nicholas.
Born and raised in Medina, Ohio, Christopher attended Ithaca College and
earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2003. He also interned in Los Angeles
as a camera intern for the Bernie Mac Show. He and Nicholas now tour the
country speaking about their films. In addition to writing the short story
that "The Elephant is based on, Christopher has written a feature-length
screenplay that he is looking to sell.
Strantz, Judah, Who is Johnny S.
Judah Strantz: a
young man from Northern Indiana that likes watching movies and making them.
Judah's film Lint in My Pocket was one of the Best of Flickerings,
2002.
Travis, Jeffrey, What's Wrong With This picture?
Jeffrey Travis grew up in Argentina and recently began to pursue his interest in filmmaking. In his first year, he has written, directed and/or co-produced ten short films, He is currently working in preproduction with Dos Gringos Productions on a feature film.
Waitman, Lon, Footsteps Revisited
Lon is an animator,
editor, juggler, actor, director and disciple of Christ. His
ministry/company, Vertical Hold Animation is based in Atlanta, GA.
