Flickerings is pleased to announce the films which will be part of our 2003 Showcase at Cornerstone Festival, July 2-5. Word must be getting out: this year, our third, the Call for Entries was answered by more filmmakers than in previous years, and the result is a broad variety of exciting new narrative, documentary, experimental and animated films. One more positive development is the number of entrants who have screened films at Flickerings in the past — evidence that our goal of creating a community of filmmakers and filmlovers is starting to happen. In fact, we've known about several of these projects for months, as members of that community have stayed in touch with one another throughout the year, passing along news, exchanging scripts and ideas, even working together on shoots. This is all very exciting and we look forward to continuing to build community in 2003 as we welcome old friends and make new ones. Our 2003 event will prove to be an important one in the development of our Flickerings community as we will be working together to shape the mission of this event together in our Dogma seminars, afternoon workshops, and late night Filmmaker Only sessions. Meanwhile, congratulations to all those filmmakers who will be sharing their work and vision with us in the 2003 Showcase.
