Flickerings Film Showcase announces a new filmmaking competition to be held
AT Cornerstone Festival 2002! As a part of our ongoing effort to kindle a
filmmaking culture among our Cstone community, we've added a new Film
Showcase category: "Films Shot at Cornerstone 2002." Shoot your film at
this year's fest so we can screen it next year at Cornerstone
XX!

We say it's time to stop talking and start shooting!
...anything from fictional dramatic films, like, say, "Godzilla vs The
Underground Stage" to documentary pieces like "Gourmet Cooking at
Cornerstone (or 'I'd Rather NOT Know What's In the Soup')" are encouraged.
One warning: the longer a film is, the more strictly it will be judged; ergo,
shorter films are much more likely to make to the program. The Flickerings 2002 seminar
schedule includes workshops on improvisational filmmaking, with an eye to
getting you out the door and shooting your film immediately. But while we're
placing special emphasis on improv filmmaking, the
"Shoot a Film @ Cornerstone!" contest is wide open: improvised
and scripted films, narrative, documentary, experimental, and even animated
films will be accepted. At least 60% of the film must be SHOT at Cornerstone
Festival 2002 (i.e. on the grounds or near vicinity, during the week of the
festival) and the completed film must be received in our office by February
1, 2003. The best films will be screened in a special segment of our 2003
Flickerings Film Showcase. There is no entry fee, but all filmmakers must
fill out a Entry Form which will only be available during this year's Cornerstone
Festival at the Flickerings Film Showcase (official rules will also
be posted online). And in case anybody is wondering, the filmmakers supply
their own gear and tape (or film!?) stock. This contest is separate from the
regular Flickerings Film Showcase "Call for Entries" for 2003, which will be
conducted according to the regular entry rules and
deadlines already established. Good luck!!
